◊ Scripture Lesson – Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7
◊ Message – Coping in Disaster
◊ Jeremiah is a letter to the Israelites who are now captives in Babylon. What he prophesied has now come to pass. Their worst fears have become their reality. Now what? All of us at one time or another have to cope with a new reality, a new normal, when disaster strikes close to home. It could be a flood, a hurricane, an illness, a divorce, a death – anything that hits us and shakes us to the core of our being, leaving us wondering how we will go on. Come this Sunday as we learn to cope in the aftermath. There is hope. There is a future. God never gives up on us.
